Oh yeah,your right,I see it now.It does have an alien caterpillar look. The Aloe dichotoma Josh,is without a doubt a full sun plant. And its a good thing your going to plant the seedlings in ground -around April?- They stunt more than most Aloes I have tried. I guess that's why you never see a post of a large pot grown A. dichotoma,unless it was field grown. Use plenty of perlite in the mix.You really can't use too much. I have a footer in the front yard with a chunky trunk for it's size. I have noticed that of all the Aloe species people like to see most,Two Aloe's stand out -Aloe dichotoma and Aloe plicatilis.

Most of my plants give me a rash like poison ivy, including many very common plants that don't bother anyone else, but no Kalanchoes have done this. I think the rash that Maria experienced was from the pomegranate, not the Kalanchoe. There are plenty of reports of reactions to pomegranates. Anything is possible but that is what I suspect. These plants are fantastically easy to keep. Put them in the ground outside for summer, then before frost hits, cut off as much as you want and stick the cut stems in pots by a sunny window. The blooms will entertain and new babies will grow to be ready to go outside again next year to repeat the process. Just don't do this if you live where the babies can survive if you don't want a literal carpet of them allllll around where they were the year before.
