Row Covers vs. Colorado Potato Beetles

bart1

Last year I planted 200 feet of potatoes and spent a lot of time killing Colorado Potato Beetle eggs, larva, and bugs. A LOT OF TIME! My back hurts just thinking about it.

This year I'm going to plant probably close to 300 feet and was thinking of trying some floating row covers to cobat the problem.

Has anyone used them with success? Is there anything I need to know?

When do you put them out? ASAP, and then remove them for hilling and then replace them afterwords?

Thanks!

Bart
