I have irises, Oriental lilies, night blooming cereus, bananas, lots of other things.

I have one coral bells that I thought would fit with the rest of my garden and just hasn't...what colors lilies do you have? Are the bananas hardy to any cold? Thanks!! -kettish.

Hi Carol (daisy_lee), I don't have any of those, but I did collect from Paris and Harmonic convergence last year. I may not be the best at collectin heuchera seed. I just take the whole seed head. If you are interested in these I'd trade for the white eggplant and the baptisia. Thanks, Cathy

I was in a bad place that year. My Mom was very sick and she passed the following year. When I got the second gift certificate as a sympathy gift from a friend I wanted to cry again. But I did post a negative on Garden Watchdog and they contacted me and are making it good. So their customer service was good. I have been gardening and ordering for 30 years and I have never had such a bad experience. Even with plants from Michigan Bulb and you know how bad they are. lol You said they were small this year, I am wondering if the positive was before the economy went down the toilet and they are rushing plants out the door before their time. I just feel they are one of the most expensive online nursery they should be larger and better plants. My order is coming in next week I will post pics. If they are going to start to send smaller plants they are going to lose good people like you.

Wow folks really don't like heuchera huh? If you choose a cultivar that's off patent or never patented you can propagate by divisions, almost like hostas. Making it so when one does do well you can make more of it. That's great if you like doing that. The good news is that any of the cultivars is going to offer contrast to the species form you are planting. So I would try and find the oldest cultivar you can, maybe a Dale's Strain, Palace Purple, Plum Pudding, Autumn Bride and Silver Scrolls all seem to be available in the trade despite much commentary on older varieties disappearing. Of the new still-on-patent ones everyone seems to like Caramel. Planting in the spring is better than in the fall for overwintering, but of course they sell well in the fall too. I would also acknowledge that some are going to be like annuals and a long narrow row is going to have some that grow big and some that don't come back. I am assuming your planting area is mostly shade and you are growing in zone 7 where it gets hot in the summer otherwise you want advice from someone else (and writing where you are is helpful). Here is another assumption: you are specifically looking for a native shade plant where the foliage is interesting. You might want the native Dicentras! Other plants to look at (not native to North America) to see if they can help diversify your planting: Astilbe, Hosta, Acanthus, Alchemilla, Carex.

I thought I checked the box sending replies to my email, but I guess I didn't. So sorry to be late in responding to some of you.

The bananas are High Color Mini. They are not cold hardy.

Irises are tall bearded in many different colors. I've lost the drawing I made of where everything is, so I can't vouch for colors or names. I will say, however, that they are all gorgeous and traffic-stoppers when they bloom.

The lilies are Stargazer, Starfighter, Casablanca, and Aubade.

I have no idea what a firehouse lily is!!

I may have been premature in listing this. My lillies still have green leaves, so I don't want to disturb them if they're growing. And I'm going on vacation mid-October. If you don't mind waiting until late October, then shoot me an email.

PS How do heucheras ship? Bare root? in soil? I've never had any before and would appreciate any information you can give me.

I ship them with rooted washed off and wrapped up with a wet paper towel and put in a plastic baggy and tape or rubber band to secure and ship priorty mail to make sure delivery is 3-4 days
