I have the north ceilings up so the walls are set. the little space below the bathroom door was to be the bathroom door but it would take a large chunk out of our bedroom, so the wife nixed it. The toilet/shower will be on the far side of the bath (after I knock the wall out of the middle of the bathrooom). I noticed if I put a cabinet in the planned door hole and moved the door south a few feet, I still had the same kitchen storage and i had a lot more room in the bedroom. The landing, kitchen and bath are the last ceilings to do. After I insulate the south wall in the kitchen, I need to tear into the landing, so I can get that ceiling up and windows in. I need some walk boards shoved thru the kitchen/landing wall for that, so I may as well make that mess before I clean up last weeks mess. The master bedroom will eventually be an entrance to an addition where the new bedroom will be, but that is a couple years down on the to do list. So, I'm land locked on my bathroom choices. either it enters beside my bed or beside the stove. The wife says the stove. I saw the corner oven on a recent post. I would lose some precious space, but I like the look

Congratulations on building your new home. Based on our experience here are a few things you should look into: 1) Whether your shed (accessory building) is allowed in your zoning code. 2) The maximum sq ft of the accessory building that is allowed. 3) How far does it need to be setback from your property line. This varies between municipalities. 4) Make sure your Crabapple tree (Malus spp). is going to do well in your plant hardiness zone. http://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/PHZMWeb/ 5) Regarding the shrubs, in our planting designs we try to only specify plants that are native to the state and region, because of reduced irrigation and maintenance needs. In looking at your pictures, we think that the swale should be usable space for recreation and repose. The trees can be located near the deck for privacy purposes; we recommend planting mature trees (large gallon size) because of higher survivability rates. If you are using the Crabapple tree for privacy, take into account that their canopy range is between 10'-25' diameter depending on the species. Also keep in mind that Crabapple is deciduous, which means you may want to consider a mix of deciduous and coniferous (evergreen). Lastly, we think you should cluster your plantings along the edges of the sides of the property (not in front of the swale); this would make your back yard look bigger. I like blues with brick. I would also paint your garage doors so they don’t stand out so much. And a big house like that needs deeper flower beds. And a big tree!

zone is not enough ... we need a location.. big city name ... do you know your soil??? what direction does the front door face ... are the only shade trees the one on the left .... if there is clear sky above.. im not sure i would even call this part shade .. if this is a winter pic.. do you have a summer pic to see such?? winner winner chicken dinner is done.. more tomorrow ken
