Cucumber turning yellow
Comments (4)I think this looks like Nitrogen deficiency in the soil. You need to add a Nitrogen fertilizer for dark green leaves. I use a Nitrogen fertilizer till the plants are big enough and have dark green leaves. After that you can switch to a low Nitrogen fertilizer....See MoreWhy are my cucumber plants turning yellow? Comments (4)Hey there. Those UT mountains in the background are killing me! Don't get a view like that in NC, but it's lush and green here. Usually yellowing is due to nitrogen deficiency or overwatering. Since it seems like you had plenty of nitrogen, I'm going to guess overwatering as well. Also plants dropping flowers can be due to overheating, and I heard it got pretty hot in your area this year. My parents live in UT, and they only water 2 to 3 times a week during ave summer weather -- more when it's over 95. I have the overwatering disease so I finally bought a cheap moisture meter at Lowes and my garden is doing great, whereas before everything was yellow. Best of luck to you!...See MorePumpkin dying
Comments (7)I applied the mix, but the larvae appear to be working on the roots of the last living section of vine, to which is attached my only Giant Atlantic pumpkin. Anyone have ideas of what I can try? I'd prefer organic, however I would consider other options. I have the red dye and clove oil to kill adults, but it's too late for that to prevent the larvae....See MoreSquash and Cucumbers turning yellow
Comments (13)I'm in Toronto. I had similar issues with my zucchini (and now starting to with my cucumbers). I tried milk solution. I tried baking soda solution. I think that I was too late with the PM control. My Zucks stopped producing viable fruit. They would still produce female flowers but the fruit would just turn yellow, mushy and die off. So I decided to rip them out, and use the space for fall planting (some beans, peas, radishes). Lesson learned for next year: start spraying the squash leaves at the first sign of PM. There are several recipes you can find online using milk, baking soda, etc. Some people just spray the leaves down with water in the early morning and that removes the mildew. I did not try that myself....See Moresusieqqq
