HAVE: Black Gamecock Louisiana Iris

I have about a dozen rhizomes of Black Gamecock that I would love to trade for other named Louisiana irises or Japanese irises. Would like to do this in one trade...these will really fill out an area in a year or two and make a beautiful display near a pond or just in the garden when given more water.

I have a Black Gamecock Louisiana Iris, i know that they are very happy in the water. I want to know if they can be grown in only water, no soil. I was thinking of having it at the bottom of a glass container but i'm not sure if it will thrive without any soil, anyone have any experience with this?? Thanks so much :)
