Hey there -- I have a small plant of one of the Fusion series -- it is orangeish, I'll have to go check the name. I would also love a start of your Weigela florida variegata and/or your Oncidium 'Sharry Baby', if we could work out a trade. I split a plant with my brother who got it from PltDelights two years ago. The first year I left it in a 12" pot outside over winter and had about a dozen plants come up last spring. I planted several in a semi-shaded area and potted the rest which I have been using for trading. The ones in the ground came back this spring - each is now 6 or 8 plants spread out in a rough circle about 8 inches in diameter. I have toad lilies, cardinal flowers, tiarella and heucherellas in the same area. I will always bring inside at least a couple of pots of these impatiens to be safe in case of an exceptionally cold winter. If nothing else, it makes starting plants easier than digging them out of the ground. Mine have yellow flowers in the late fall, but no seeds. Anyone else seen any seeds on these Impatiens? Any chance they could be crossed with another type?

For the last few years I have grown calibrachoa in my deck railing planters. They don't seem to tolerate many hours of direct sunlight and intense heat very well. I did notice at my local nursery new guinea impatiens thriving in similar conditions so I am looking to make a change this year for my deck planters. Can anyone recommend a particular type that would grow well in deck planters so I can buy the seeds now and start them indoors in a few weeks?

I think they could potentially be invasive in Mississippi. I dreamed about growing I. glandulifera for years, looked for seeds for years, then, finally found some. When I actually grew them out I wasn't impressed. They looked rough and unruly. The flowers were beautiful though. I much prefer I. ballfouri which is also from the Himalayas. I. ballfouri is shorter, much neater looking with pink and white blooms. I often find seeds by doing a Google search. A lot of the time you can find hard to locate seeds on Amazon and EBay. You need to be careful that you don't let these aliens get into the native ecosystem. Impatiens glandulifera has wreaked havoc in the U.K. and Pacific Northwest.
