OMG viruses are rampant now. My dd got some off of Facebook on hers. The a week later she crashed my computer twice from FB viruses. If it wasn't for my oldest son who is majoring in Computer Programming, I would have to pay alot to get all these puter fixed lol. That's one of the reasons I don't do FB much.

Well, hopefully most people should know not to click on links from unknown sources and then proceed to install an unknown file. But, it happens. Anyway, if you are keeping your anti-virus updated, this should not be a problem.

Usually you just have to NOT click on any banner ads or popup windows (or open email attachments from people you don't know, scan email attachments from people you do know). Best to have pop-up blocker software installed. the scary thing about this one is that I didn't click on anything as I was browsing through my PB album looking for the pic I wanted to post, and all of a sudden my browser shut down and I had this application window open saying that my AV software had detected a virus and I should scan now to remove and replace, click *here*. Wel, that sounded suspicious, i didn't recognize the AV Doctor software so I asked DH what he had installed on this laptop and sure enough, it was a bogus window made VERY cleverly to look like a real application window. Good thing I didn't click OK. So as long as you don't see this window, or if you do don't click OK, you should be all right. If you do see this window, run a real scan right away. Not sure what this would have done - installed a virus or some software that would have scanned my hard drive or captured passwords - something nasty b/c it would have loaded some executable (.exe) file on my hard drive. I have used PB since then and it hasn't happened again. Just wanted people to be aware of this malware on PB.
