Well, that is an ENGLISH garden I think, we are not in England, and spring is will nigh gone, so I guess we can darn well grow what we please and be prepared to face the consequences. I don't necessarily recommend Asian or Longiforum lilies with roses, just wanted some so badly and have them in a spot by themselves toward the back. I liked the daylilies idea, but am weary of yellow Stella, and their bloom time is short but the foliage stays pretty neat and tidy. In one picture I saved of Jon's friend who also had a Mottisfont-inspired garden in ENGLAND, it was charming, brick wall in the bg, lots of pink fairy-like roses that almost twinkled, and the only other plant I recall was eremus which was marvelous. Maybe he didn't read the book? Another thing I liked about that garden was that there were areas of room between the plants, not all crammed together. It had a light, airy, pleasing look and your eyes drifted from one attraction to another and not have the whole thing jump in your face. That guy on the island off the coast of Italy really has a handle on landscape design. Whether you get the formal training or not, it seems like somewhat of a gift to me, how he worked things in with the roses the main attraction. I like iris with roses if I could get some to grow like in the pics people posted. You should have pitched the book across the room, that is funny!

i would be so grateful of anyone knows what the name of the iris is that i am seeking and where i can buy some. My dear mother n law who has been gone for some time now used to have an iris growing in her yard and gave me some years ago.it was purple, and smelled like grapes.. very delicious.. i mean to say.. very much like grapes!! yum.. i would do anything to find it again .. Halp!! please email me with any ideas.. and thank you for the bottom of my heart :)

Sometimes its hard to suggest things without knowing the rest of the story, so to speak. There are iris that are white, but some are bluish white and some are yellowish white, and they will look different depending on what they are planted with. Sometimes the bluish white ones can look sort of gray with the wrong companions. Everything Plus is nice and would be harder to figure out what would look good with it if you wanted to have a couple of iris together. I have Princess of Paradise which is sort of similar, and I have it planted with a dark purple NOID historic, Tom Johnson, and a orange iris, so not your color scheme. Some iris grow better in different parts of the country, and so it would be good to ask around where you are to see what grows well in your area. There are a lot of pink selections, and they range from orangy pinks to purpley pinks, and you might want to stay away from the orangy, coraly pinks depending on what else is in your garden. I saw a big bunch of Cherub's Smile at the Blue J gardens, and I thought it was really pretty, and isn't too peachy. I think a dark iris would be nice with the Everything Plus. I have Superstition, and it is a tough iris.

Named ones= Begonia " Richardsiana" B." Snow Capped " B. "Tea Rose" B. "Hot Tamale" B. "Good and Plenty " B, "Tiny Gem " B. " Silver Queen " The Richardsiana has in pass week took a big flop , and so not sure whats up with it , taken it back into house , hope it was just heat stroking from 100 + daze we have been in for pass couple of weeks here in nastyville , so not sure about it. Two other's unknown named ones but pretty just the same and last one I think mite be B. " Sophia Cecile " not sure. I see you have " My Special Angel " have been looking at it in the catalogs . sorry I'm so long winded.... but sure there must be something in your long list that we can work with . P.s. I wont make it to any plant swap so..... not sure how we would do this if we've a mind to ???? But thanks for your time and effort if thats the only way .
