justaguy- your container peas..plant any in late summer for fall?

I notice you are in zone 5. I'm in a pocket of zone 5b or 6 depending on the year. (This year looks like a hot and humid zone 6 kind of year so far).

I would like to grow some container peas and I missed the spring planting. I have the variety Wando that can take some heat, and snow peas Oregon Giant and another one (Snow Sweet maybe?) that have some resistance to powdery mildew (that I know can hit peas hard in late summer's heat).

Have you ever grown your container peas in summer, late summer or early fall? I would shade the roots in the pots, water every day and give the climbers places to climb. Or should I just wait till next spring?

Thanks,

Rebecca
