Uh-oh I planted everything in MG Organic :(

So, post #2:

When searching for a potting medium the only thing I knew what that it should be potting mix and not soil.

Went to Home Depot and chose Miracle Grow Organic based on. . . wait for it. . . here it comes: the fact that there was a picture of a tomato on the bag. Yup. It's my first time, be easy, I had nothing else to go on :)

So now I'm reading that it's bad for drainage and plants do poorly in it--what do I do now? I have about 35 plants (vegetables and herbs) in 8" to 20" pots and I'm really concerned that I'm doomed to failure.

My specific questions are:

  • Is there anything I can do aside from repotting them to avoid potential problems?

  • What can I do to amend the mix for those plants yet to be potted?

  • What can I easily purchase going forward? (I've read the mix recipes and they seem a little daunting for me to attempt this year.)

  • And, lastly, this was a question I've had since beginning and would apply for anything I'd used: What do I do with the mix once growing season ends and how can I reuse it come spring?

Thanks again for any and all advice!
