parts of leaves are brown and brittle despite hydration

I have a young eucalyptus deglupta (rainbow eucalyptus) growing in a container. Recently, it has started to look unhealthy. The leaves are droopier and many seem burnt. Despite its sick appearance, there's plenty of young leaves and new growth. This tree needs to continue living in a container for the time being, so ground planting is not an option. I am aware of its growth potential :). I have kept the soil moist and I have also attempted once dose of fertilizer (12-8-10). Could somebody please help me identify the source the source of distress? Please see pics in link:
