HAVE: Shell ginger-Alpinia

I have shell ginger tubers (not variegated, just plain) to trade for heat tolerant, full sun plants. Anything that attracts butterflies is great. Looking for larger trades as the postage is just too ridiculous to send 1 or 2 things.

Shell ginger is suitable for partial sun, large beds by themselves or around trees where you want to fill in. They spread and are difficult to remove so don't put them a small area. They get up to 12 feet tall.

I am a speedy reliable trader looking for the same:)

I will send a flat rate box of sun loving butterfly plants for your ginger.
Included in my box will be : purple cone flower, lantana, salvia-Texas red, lion's tail and other things.

I would love to have some of the ginger. I have some red canna as well as some tropicanna canna. I have croscomia "Lucifer" many types of mums (one heirloom) and some lemon balm. PLMK if these are anything that you might be interested in.

I had the same experience. I planted 5 outside and when it got cold they all died. The temperature got down to maybe 32 (lowest)but it was sporadic.I will get more but I will put them inside in pots and move them when winter comes.
