Want LA Iris, Gingers, Hoyas; Have Plumeria

Hello,

I'm looking for LA Irises. I would love some different colors especially blues and pinks. I have no id but very pretty plumeria (most are rainbows grown from seed imported from Thailand; have pictures). I also have generous cuttings of hoya australis or carnosa, and heliconia jacquini rhizomes for trade.

I would also be interested in trading for hoyas and gingers that I don't have. Please check my list and let me know what you have and what you would like to trade for.

i have white butterfly ginger.. galangal edible thai ginger, white night blooming epi, misc cuttings of christmas cactus, mother of thousands, divisions of corkscrew rush, umbrella plant.. interested in your plumeria and heliconias.

Laurie, that is very informative. I am glad it is different because I already have some LA irises growing in my goldfish pond and I really wanted something a little different. The original plant was beside a rose garden and was very tall and magestic looking. I have the tiny babies planted around a angel water fountain. When I was a child, I loved bearded irises, but I can't grow them in zone 9 NE Florida. We are planning to move back to zone 8 where I have noticed others growing bearded irises. I can't wait. Thanks again. I know my way around many plants, but the irises, for the most part are new to me. However, I did buy a huge bucket of white with violet centered African Irises today. I have them planted in front of some red rose bushes.

Hi Tami, I'd be happy to trade cuttings with people in Texas as long as its legal. The Texas Department of Agriculture rewrote all of its plant importation regulations in June 2005. The way the law reads now, it states: "...all plant products shipped from other states MUST be accompanied with a valid certificate of inspection..." This includes cuttings,and any plant part capable of growth and propogation. The law used to indicate that only certain things required inspection, and if I recall, aquctic plants like water lilies and stuff like cuttings were exempt. Apparently now, nothing is exempt. If you would like to call or email your Texas director and ask, and if they say no problem, certainly I'd consider a trade with you. I just don't want to get busted for a 3rd degree felony. Hi Helen we did a trade last yr, I got bananas from you and I think I sent hedychiums to you. I don't remember which ones I sent, but in the way of pinks I have Tai Pink Profusion, Tai Empress, Tai Conch Pink, Kane's Pink, Pink V, Oto Himi. Pink crinum I have JC Harvey, (smells like a pink Easter lily)Hanibel's Dwarf and a dark reddish pink Ellen Bosanquet.
I was looking at your list and I like any of these, Sydney amaryllis, Victoria White and Blue salvia, Pink Sunburst canna.(I know how you feel about virused cannas, been in the same boat) michelia alba,hedy kewense and musa Siam Ruby and velutina if you have pups.
I hope to have 2 new pink hedys, Pink Flame and Pink Sparks bloom true this yr and then I can trade those. I have Elizabeth and it's wimpy, it doesn't seem to like anyplace I put it in the yard. Let me hear from you if you see anything you like!

Hi, I am intersted in trading with you. I have the dark,dark purple louisiana iris plants. I also have alot of tropical plants that you do not have on your list. I am interested in trading for your torch gingers, I have tried to email you with the items I think you would be interested in, but I am not able to send you an email. Please email me I would like to send you a plant list. Just a few things not on your list. I have white and dark purple lily of the nile. Both chinese ground orchids and the other ground orchids, both purple in color. I have a double brugmansia rooted "Sam", yellow, white, or purple double datura, sweet memories duranta, giant red leaf crinum, candle stick plant, tropical bleeding heart vines,both colors, red and white and purple and red. I also have palm trees that you did not list, I can send the parlor palm and cardboard palm, and seeds for the King Palm, and Alexander Palm. Variegated rubbler tree, african dasies purple, yellow, and cream, these just bloom in zone 9 non stop. I also have the african hosta. I would really like to send a list of the plants I have thru email. I will be going down this weekend, and would be able to list what I have available, I have an acre of gardens in Texas, zone 9.
