Wanted: Daffodils, Hyacinths, Crocus, Tulips, Spring Bulbs

I would like to set up trades for Spring Bulbs. I know it's too early for Spring bulbs to be dug right now; but I need to set up trades now because of the plants I have to offer need to be shipped sooner. This Fall you can ship my bulbs when it's time for them to be dug. I'm willing to send my trade after the iris have bloomed and it's still cool enough the other plants can ship and remain healthy. This is usually late May into early June.

I also include Bonus plants with each trade!

I have:

lavender lilacs

white lilacs

pink lilac (Josse)

single petal pink rose - wild/native (3-year old plant)

Early Stardrift bulbs

Early Snow Glory Bulbs

Kuanzo Daylily

Orange Daylily (Ditch Lily)

Iris:

TB Brite Spirit yellow)

TB Second Look (peachy yellow)

TB Australian Garnets (deep purple/black w/garnet hint)

TB Jesse's Song (white w/violet edges)

TB Dynamite (maroon red)

IB Cute Orange Horn (orange, red beard, horns)

TB Boogie Man (violet back)

IB Cat's Whiskers (yellow, w/maroom lines)

DWF Making Eyes (white, purple on falls)

DWF Little Episode (deep puple)

I have several unknown TB Iris I am willing to put in groups of three starts which will be three different colors. Colors will vary and may include:

Yellow with large white spot on falls

Lavender with grape scent, small flowers on tall stems

Two-tone purple, purple stands with deeper purple falls

Praiseworthy- pastel stands, lavender falls

Pastel blue with slight lavender hint as flower ages

Two-tone burgundy, lighter stands with deeper color falls

White, similar to Swan Ballet

Hi,

I am very interested in your TB irises. Do you want named daffodils & tulips only? I have several different kinds of daffodils but I only know the names of a few of them.

Will you have any of the yellow lilac, Primrose available for trade? Have lots of fall bulbs in the fall.

I'm a new gardener and new to gardenweb. If anyone has either seeds or plants of Amaryllis, Hyacinth, or Spring Crocus (any colors) for trade, I would appreciate it. Well, the bulbs are all in, swapped, and on their way back out! We had a really good variety this year, even with only 9 participants, and they all looked really healthy as well! I hope everyone got something that they will really enjoy this coming year. And I hope the weather holds out long enough to plant! Please let me know that you've received your package back, and I hope we get even more participants in the Spring. We will have another swap in the Spring. It will be for bulbs that are to be planted in the Spring, and bloom in the Summer/Fall. I think you might have trouble in the shed. Most spring bulbs originate from areas where the ground never actually freezes in winter, and here they recommend planting them extra deep, I presume because of our cold temperatures. I have done pots of crocus and small daffodils successfully, but that was kind of underground... we had a sprinkler system, and the controller for it was about a foot below ground level, up against the house, in a dug-out box where you lifted a wooden panel to gain access. So I put the potted bulbs in there, and covered it with the wooden panel, then let the snow mound over that naturally. Then in February or so I would bring the pots indoors for a pre-spring treat. Another method that has worked for me is to put pots of crocus bulbs in the back of the fridge, but that obviously cuts into food storage so isn't ideal.

Daffies and tulips produce bloated pods when they are producing seeds (I suspect crocuses also), and they should start to split open from the top when they are ready, so you don't really need to hurry that much to get the seeds. I've never collected daffy or crocus seeds myself, but I've tried with tulips, but the seeds were still green and not ready when the pod split for some reason, so that was a disappointment. They looked like lily seeds, though, in case you need to know, flat and in layers in the pod. I suspect they turn pale brown, like lilies when they are ready.

I would love to trade for your two dwarf iris, and maybe the intermediates. I can send several mixed darwin tulips (20-40), after they finish blooming and die back. Some have variegated leaves.

I bought Lowe sut of there spring bulbs about five hundred, they are all bloming now wish I new how to post a picture they are truly outstanding, Three types of new dafodils, thre types of hycinths, and several types of dutch iris Would like to set up a large trade for your irises,Ive got many many plants to trade right now I have ornamental grases five diferent types and water plants and canna lilies bought from lowes last year,lets trade Hightider
