Wow, we just got SPANKED with another microburst...I thought we were gonna catch a tornado that time, for sure! I had to shut down the 'puter and run and close all the windows. In that time I lost my post, I'll try again. Linda, I spoke to Century Oaks Peony Farm about Butterflies in Flight, and they maintain mine cannot be, since BIF are brand-new this year and mine have been here at leastfive years. My nieghbor behind us also has a HUGE bush of these, and I maintain they hav been around here for many years. However, yours 'could' be BIF, although I doubt they would be offered through Wal-Mart their first year. Cecily, here are a couple closer shots of the 'white' one. Sorry the pics are so yellow...it is so dark this morning that I had to use the light and I didn;t correct for color accuracy before uploading. Close enough, though. The outer petals (are they really sepals?) are a pale pink while the rest of the flower is white. The stamens have a lot of red, but no red flecks in the petals.

The above two postings I am interested in some roses. Maala you must be close to me because I am at 121 and Hebron Parkway. I am interested if you still have yellow irises. I have yellow columbine, lemon balm some is still growing, blue mist, Japanese irises, coneflower seeds, bald cypress seeds. Plant Swap this Sunday 2 to 4pm if interested I can give u more details. The virus, unless it was in the graft, comes onto the foliage through mites. It works its way down the cane to the bud union, or roots in that case. No I just got rid of the whole thing, and am still looking for the smaller roots. I really dont think the hairy roots are that much to worry about, but its hard to get all the roots. In my case it was not in the grafted canes yet. If it is an old rose, you might want to replace soil anyway. The concern about roots might be that multiflora can grow from a small root, and many grafted roses in the NE and Canada are on multiflora. Every body is trying to go own root as much as possible because of the infection in MF.
