Hi, I have a few of these in my front yard. They are GREAT plants! Flood, drought, indoors or out! I can send you a few divisions in the spring around March, maybe sooner. They are hard to find plants. I have only seen them in floral shops. The one I have is the plain green one, but there are types with color differences such as speckles. Gail~ Almost anything that will be shorter than the aspidistras, handle the sun or shade of the spot, and that you like. Wasn't very helpful, was it? If you want a more helpful answer we need to know: 1) What your sun/shade/soil/moisture conditions are. 2) Do you want perennials? Annuals? Shrubberies? 3)What effect you are trying to achieve. Do you want constant color? To soften the "row of soldiers" effect your aspidistra are most certainly making? 4) What size area are you working with? Just signing on and saying "I have a row of cast iron plants along a privacy fence, what could I plant in front? Thank you" is not going to elicit helpful responses from most of us.
