Hi silverwind, I have some cuttings of Corkscrew & Weeping Willows that I can send to you, either or both. They are not rooted yet but have been in water for over a month and will root if given ample mulch and plenty of water. They grow really fast. Keep them topped out for bushier trees and to reduce damage from the severe wintry weather elements. Send me an email with your mailing address and I will get those out to you. If it is still too cold there, you can keep them in a basement under light or in a sheltered area on the south side of your house covered with a white trash bag or clear plastic and they will be okay until it warms. My niece planted a dwarf grafted weeping cherry tree, it maybe about 5 foot tall, she said, that it will never get any taller. Yet I have not found any like that. Most get at least 15 foot tall. I was wondering where to look, or if the nursery told her wrong.

I am in the thumb (Michigan), it's aways from you but if your ever in the area I have weeping and corkscrew willows. There great, the weeping willow grows at least 10' a year and they have dried up the wet spots in my yard. I bought the weeping at a local nursery but the corkscrew's actually came from Home Depot.

We live in Boise, Idaho. Zone 6B. I should have mentioned that we had a horrifying cold snap in November that devastated the area, and much of the damage is only now being realized. There have been quite a few news stories just in the past week about all of the damage done to vineyards, public parks and private property. On November 6, it reached a high of 69 degrees. On November 13-14 we got about 6" of snow and on November 15, the overnight low was 1 degree. The daytime highs didn't get back above freezing until November 21, with single digit overnight lows that entire week. So we went from warm fall weather to permafrost in about 9 days. Surprisingly, our hydrangeas and many other delicate trees and shrubs weren't even fazed. But this one tree - probably our favorite tree in the yard - was just decimated.

I did some research and the seedlings that come up form dwarf cherry trees like that will NOT be the dwarf cherry tree. These dwarf trees are grafted and you will not get what the graft is.

sent pms to you that are interested. the parent tree grew from seed itself so these have to be same as parent. your 'research' is obviously missing something ;sir. theyre pie cherry dwarf,maybe that is different from sweet?
