Cannas and such

Hello fellow Gardeners, first of, thank you all for you articles and answers, I enjoy reading through the various threads a lot. This year, I want to plant a large container on my deck in a great combination, similar to what I have seen some of you here describe or picture in the past. The container is about 14" in diameter and about 2' tall, some dark brouyn resin material with drainage holes (bought at Sam's). It is in dront of a brick wall, facing south, no shade. The brick is from the 1970's and is dark with lot's of brown tones and brick red and brick ornage colors. That means all "cool" pinks look pretty bad. I am thinking of using one of the striped cannas as a center, and several million bells in similar "brick" colors for trailing. But what can I add to the middle ring that would mediate between the upright canna and the trailing milliuon bells? It needs to take full heat and sun, and maybe vary the so far "hot" color theme... Any ideas, please let loose! LOL. Last year I planted two Gartenmeister Bonstedt Fuchsias there as centerpiece with other plants around them, but the hot sun, and hot walls during the summer fried them. They'll go to a more semi-shaded spot this year. Thanks for your thoughts.

Marc
