I used to buy those cheap plastic dollies from the Dollar store and use them as stencils with spray paints and stains. You could get some beautiful patterns with those. Something like that might work on concrete. In theory you could print directly to concrete. I have a cheap little inkjet printer that prints lables directly on my CDs. I suspect a large printer could be easily made to do the same on concrete. That would be a cool gadget.

It's a personal preference thing. If you are planning a large garden with lots of plants do your home work. Shop around and make sure you have made the right decision for labels. You don't want to change in the middle of the stream. I use a HP Laser Jet printer. Prints on Avery Easy Peel clear address labels. 30 labels... 1" x 2 5/8 per sheet. I key the names in on Microsoft Word. It prints them off in seconds. Once applied on tag they never discolor or deteriorate. You must use a Laser Jet printer. Since you don't have a Laser Jet then give careful consideration to the Brothers. They work very well inside. I am not familiar with their ability to with stand the outside elements. rick? Dave

I too use color pictures of the items inside, on my labels as well as color backgrounds and many different fonts. Sometimes I even make a text line that is curved and follows the curvature of the round label. When I print, the whole sheet gets done in a single pass. I used to print the labels using MS Word, but its very difficult to position each portion of text, especally if the text is modified or changed. Even for that, I have the watermark printed along with each sheet. The watermarks are usually a light gray and will be like a shadow on each label. The text can also have radiant glows and shadows of various colors. For sheets of oval lables (like for jelly jars), which are very small, I attach these small sheets to a piece of plain paper using a removable tape, and run them through the printer like normal. They would otherwise jam in the printer becase of their smaller size.

I did sprites them with a little water from a bottle to keep them moist on the ones that were not sealed in the the paper bags (if they are sealed I found it best not to disturb them) Vina - Your plants are MARVELOUS.
