They'll definitely take about five degrees of frost. So long as your container doesn't freeze solid and cause cell damage or droughting they'll probably be fine.

Good light, moderate water. If the mix is still damp an inch down I think I'd wait a few more days, even if the drainage in the pot is superb.

It seems to be different when they're outdoors - even in pots. They'll take a lot of moisture (well, days of relentless downpour) and just bide their time. However, your frosts are probably longer-lasting than those I get, as well as going deeper into the soil.

You're likely to find that your bulb/s have multiplied. Asiatics are often prolific. It could be worth planting some out and mulching well once the stalks have died down to see them safely over the winter. Plant into plenty of well-rotted compost that will hold moisture, ensure there's support for the stems, ensure the drainage is good (no high water tables, please) and a side dressing of a reliable general fertiliser. They love being fed with dressings of good compost - and show it with plenty of buds on a sturdy stem. So long as you don't have blazing summers they can take quite a lot of sun, although they do prefer some shade for their root area. Keep them well-watered while coming up to produce flowers. Taper off as the stems begin to yellow.

Thank you so much for your response. I actually just planted them this year - in november or early december, so I was surprised at their sprouts. We have had unseasonably warm weather in Austin, and I think a lot of plants are being tricked into thinking its spring! I'll keep these in a container for a while and then I'll plant them in the ground.
