mac os x (10.4) landscaping/design/garden software??
Comments (19)Punch! does look interesting. I checked their website and will probably purchase soon. I've been using a draw program for about ten years now called Canvas. It's worked very well for me but the company was sold and it looks like it may not be supported for much longer. It has a paint component as well, but I've been using PhotoShop for imaging for almost as long, so I've never used Canvas for that. The originator of Canvas, a company called Deneba also created an application called DenebaCad, which I purchased but never learned. I've long considered biting the bullet for the cost in dollars and learning curve for the highly rated VectorWorks (originally called MiniCad). It seems like Punch! may be worth checking out as the price is quite reasonable for what it says it can do. Did you ever acquire Punch!, chillin already?...See MoreGarden software suggestions?
Comments (6)Hey Scott, I really like the program they have. You get a 30 day free trial period and then it's $25.00 ( I think) annually from there. Like anything, it takes a little time to get used to but very user friendly. It was recently upgraded. I like the visual display which will alert you to rotate crops and the recommended number of plants. The plant list shows appropriate planting times from indoors to direct and each plant has a nice description available. I make notes in the planting guide of plant dates and update that for future reference. I think it is a good and valuable to use from year to year. I even use it for my separate fall garden planting. Hope that is helpful. Feel free to ask more questions if you want. Good luck....See Moregarden layout software
Comments (2)There is a separate forum for daylilies - this one is limited to the discussion of true lilies (although a LOT of daylily questions get asked and answered :-)) You may just find better and more specific answers to your request from fellow daylily growers. I'd also consider posting in the Design or Professional Gardening forums as they more often deal with software, both design and/or database software. You can always map out individual beds by hand on graph paper and then identify which plant where. Sometimes the old fashioned method works faster and better than new technology :-)...See MoreGarden Planning Software?
Comments (3)Yes there is a site that can get you going in the right direction. They offer consultation as well. Follow this link; http://www.hicksnurseries.com/products/plants/ Click on the purple "Plant Finder" link on the right to help find plants that will grow well in your area. Also, look around the website for other helpful information. Good Luck....See Moreanney
