Anyone know what this annual is? (pics)

I bought this at Lowes in the beginning of spring. It didnt have a name, tag just read "Tropical Patio plant"

It blooms continuously and is very pretty, so pretty that I didnt want to part with it once fall arrived. So I brought it indoors and put it in front of my patio doors where it receives a few hours of sun daily. It is still blooming indoors but i'm not sure for how long or how to care for it indoors because I havent got a clue to what this plant is. I give it 2 cups of water every other day.

Here are a few pics. Anyone know what it is? The leaves are dark green, glossy and a bit stiff. Flowers are hot pink with yellow centers

I believe your plant is a mandevilla. The link below addresses how to overwinter it. - June

Hi onkyokoi,

That is a Dipladenia, which is a sport of the Mandevilla Vine. I overwinter them in my basement and they usually lose most of their leaves, but come back eventually in mid July. They are my favorite flower for hanging baskets, as the flowers last long and they do well all summer. I had three of them in hanging baskets this year and here is a picture of my red one.

Patrick: Yes. I keep it in a bathroom so that when I towel dry off, I am staring at that plant all whole time. It seems to love the very humid bathroom conditions. Thanks for all the kind comments and help. I just love this one. When I first bought it, it did not have colors like this at all. So it is all taking me by suprise. Boy can Hoya become addicting based on just leaf shape and colors alone! I hope it flowers too. I think it might, if I keep it in that spot. I was debating if I should summer it outside then bring it in in the fall. But it will get full east sun from now till fall in that window. Hi my dear friend Pug!! Thanks. Does anyone know what kind of rose this is? (pics included)

Perhaps Graham Thomas, hybridized by David Austin. Many "Austins" (as roses hybridized by Mr. Austin are called) shatter, or lose petals, quickly after opening. I remember Doodlebugs, but I never knew they could fly. As kids we just liked to see them roll themselves up into a little ball if we tickled them with a straw or piece of grass. The little chant that was mentioned, we used that for the lady bugs: "Ladybug, lady bug, fly away home. Your house is on fire and your children will burn!" Interesting! Some sort of smoking stand, not sure what the cups are for. I thought to hold tobacco, at first, but would people store it unsealed like that? Hi again,

Dipladenas are more "bushy" than the Mandevilla Vine. The flowers are also smaller. Here is a picture I just took of one of my Mandevilla Vines. I love them too and have 3 this year.

By now, you know that it is not an annual! I think you're being a bit stingy with the watering. I'd like to see you give it more than 2 cups at one watering. Then you'll likely need to water less frequently.

The crux of the thread is that your plant has been identified and you'll find info about its care under "mandevilla" or "dipladenia".

Mandevilla, however, is now considered the "correct" name of the plant (unless the plant experts have reversed their opinion and I missed that update). Dipladenia is the former ID.
