Can I save these 100 bulbs til next year?

I am upset with the way things worked out this fall for me. I finally got most of my bulbs in last week, between snow and rain.

My husband was planning to help me plant 100 species tulips Little Beauty in our front yard, about 6-8 inches down for spring. I was so excited, envisioning a beautiful spring welcome after a long winter snow. Now I'm bummed. :0(

This fall has turned out to be much busier than expected. I was HOPING I could plant them this afternoon, but the high is supposed to be 37 and there's snow on the ground. Looks like snow in the forecast from now on. I may still just put on my son's Carhart coveralls and try to uncover the snow (no, only 1/2 inch or so), and try to dig.

Can I somehow save the bulbs? We have an unheated garage, but don't know if I have something to pot them in. Can they be put in peat moss til the spring or next year?

Thanks. Phyl
