ground cherries, need cross-pollination?

I read somewhere that groud cherries need cross-pollination, but I can't seem to verify this. It probably doesn't matter for most people but I tend not to have alot of pollinating insects and my 3 plants will be spaced about 8 feet apart. I can hand pollinate if neccessary.

I plan on growing Aunt Molly's ground cherry.
