amaryllis now growing second set of leaves

I bought my amaryllis in January. It came with a vase and with the instructions it said to the fill the vase with water and place the bulb on the lip of the vase so that the roots would be the only thing in water. Well, it had two blooms but it got so heavy that it kept tipping over that I place the bulb in the same vase with dirt to keep it sturdy. I can't really remember when it bloomed I'm thinking early spring but the leaves are so out of control sitting in my window that I had to cut them back. I want it to rebloom, but as I was cutting back I noticed two smaller leaves have emerged from a different spot on the plant. Should I just leave it by the window and continue to water it and will it bloom? Or, am I needing to break the vase and separate them? I had up to ten leaves that I cut back from the first area? The other two leaves are about 10" tall already.

Thanks
