Hi Willa, To work well, the top and bottom tracks need to be parallel and solid. I do have a wooden base under the steel GH base, and that might provide some stiffness to the bottom track. One idea is adding an extra brace to the frame right over the top of the doors, to stiffen up the top track. That seems to help the doors operate more smoothly too. We just added a piece of oak we had, but others folks have used a piece of EMT or aluminum angle in the same spot. The idea is to help prevent the top track from sagging at all if possible. (click to enlarge) Also, this is a good thing to check...there's a small illustration at the bottom of page 15 of the manual, labelled Side View. (Shown below.) This shows you that the small black plastic clip Part 51 has to be guided onto the bottom door track so the small vertical part of the aluminum track is actually threaded up into the vertical gap in the center of black plastic part 51. If you do it right, the bottom leg of the black plastic "L shape" goes down the front and under the L-shaped aluminum door track, as the illustration shows. If you don't install it just like the manual shows, it's actually possible to install the doors so that the black plastic part 51 is just sitting on top of the door track, sliding along in the small valley there. Although your doors can function (sort of) this way, they can also fall off, since they're not truly captured at the bottom in the manner the kit intends. My doors can't even be pulled off the track, top or bottom. I've honestly never seen anyone comment that the wheels can be pulled off the door itself, and there really shouldn't be that kind of pressure on the door to cause that at all...it makes me think something else is wrong with your door tracks (problem with your bottom track rising up?) or, with the black clip not being installed quite right, as in the illustration above. Hi Mark, congratulations! The vents on my 10x12 are my least favorite part of the greenhouse. I do have them all working, but they seem quite flimsy and the fit is rather fussy. They are noisy in wind. I do have a larger gap on the corner of the vent closest to the overlap of the roof crown pieces (parts 10 and 11) as you mentioned, although it seems to open and close OK. I am impressed you built it by yourself. It would have been very, very difficult for me to get this up without the good help of my husband. Those of you who go it alone get a tip of the hat from me. I ended up following oraylawsons idea about using an adhesive to attach the bottom door rail frame to the base frame. That worked out well. Boy, I totally missed this tip! Wish I had thought of that, I really don't like how loosely the bottom door frame slides and moves on the base frame. Our greenhouse is hot too. With the doors open and all vents open, my greenhouse is at least 120 lately (that's as high as my cheap thermometer goes, I suspect it's higher.) Ventilation and cooling are next on the list of challenges. I will keep my fingers crossed for you on the high winds issue (and crossed for us too.) With all the good modifications given on this site, I'm pretty confident things will go well. One of my concerns is what will happen when we get a big gust of wind when I have the doors and vents open for cooling. I can batten down the house and secure the doors for oncoming storms, but our random sudden wind gusts here are kind of uncharted territory. I hope you will keep us posted on how things go for you! Bob...I'd change my priorities. Get rid of the wife first...anyone that rips out a plant, stomps it into the floor, etc. is going to be a pain in your side in the future and I'm certain she's been that in the past. Replace her with a dog...they know how to give unconditional love...then go for whichever greenhouse you want. Learn to be happy again and not obsessed with worries. For years I dealt with someone that would threaten suicide whenever she didn't get her way...or feel properly coddled. After years of enduring that we separated...eventually divorced and thank God she moved to another state. She no longer could get her way with her threats or nastiness. My life has changed totally. I'm no longer the quiet, cautious, think-everything-over-five times and then do-nothing guy. Think it over, get counseling, take it slowly...but if your life is one of worrying about plants destroyed, avoiding nastiness, busted windows from her throwing things in rage, etc...change it and be happy.

Nice J4J! Just a quick question..aren't you worried about puddles n such with that flooring? Slippery too. If you use patio pavers for the floor, they will hold the heat for at night..especially if you paint them black. Looks like that's the one I have had my eye on, but I think when the time comes, I'm prob gonna wind up building my own..scarey thought, lol. It will probably collapse on me. If I could just talk hubby into getting me one. Hell, him just agreeing to a pond was like pulling teeth. "Electricity to run a pond?" Uh--yeah, dopey, I'm not gonna sit out there and pedal a bike to power the pump, lol. Better yet, I could just get a dang donkey and one of those old thingies where the donkey walks in circles, lmao!!!!
