I am having the same problem with crocuses. I planted them three weeks ago, and we have such zig zag weather here in the winter. Last week we had 30's at night, this week, we're in the 60's. I'm thinking that I might just get to enjoy them over the winter since our winter temps will be similar to early spring in colder climates. The crocuses haven't broken through the top yet, I only know that they're trying because I found one that a critter had dug up. It had sprouts and roots, so I replanted it. Dang Armadillos!!!

I've never heard of them either. The site I ordered from says... A slightly shorter paperwhite cultivar, Inball is known for blooms that tend to hold a day or two longer than the norm, and stiff stems don't tend to flop under the weight of full flower trusses. Inball is also considered by many to have the sweetest fragrance, noticeably less musky than traditional paperwhites. (Of course, every nose is different.) While Inball takes an additional 6 to 7 days to bloom initially, this makes it ideal for providing a long season of blossoms. marcia marcia marcia! first of you must learn that bearded iris are NOT BULBS! call them rhizomes, so you can get the proper help! there are iris bulbs, but they are DUTCH. ok that was your gardening lesson for the day! i will get your a box of RHIZOMES out this week. nothing eats rhizomes above the ground, we are blessed with subterrian monsters instead... you will see earth piles and you will hear them eating your rhizomes like apples and you will see them get yanked under to china during a free for all gopher buffet! they are relentless in early spring and quiet this time of year, i assume hibernating like a bear after eating 100s of my iris...
