NHB: it is fine dining and the most special part is the farm to table aspect. Almost all of his suppliers are a few minutes away. Meats, poultry and vegetables, cheese etc all come from right in the area. He is thrilled , to say the least. You can check their blog on the website and see his latest menus and the wine dinner menu. He actually went to the farm that supplies the ducks and geese and he and the owner did the slaughtering right before Thanksgiving. He was able to get tons of fat from the ducks and is in " confit heaven" LOL. Bonnie, caminnc and sandy.....oh my what gorgeous pics. So serene. It pays to check in on this thread often because there are so many beautiful things I want to comment on but I get so sidetracked when I look at th enext response! You all do great decorating! I just bought a pink tree for DD's room today but seeing your tree I wish I'd maybe have gotten the white one for her room. Her room is white w/ pale pink, grey and a hint of deep berry in her duvet. Hmmmmm.... What to do?! Here is the banner that I made. I made one for my Sister but I used scrapbook paper instead of old newspaper laying around. Hers is shades of pink, red and greens. Some argyle letters, stripes, floral prints, a damask and a circle pattern. Each letter also outlined in red. Her letters are of heavier weight paper so they haven't curled up like mine. I used scraps to make the holly berries & leaves w/ thumbtacks glued on to the backs. No pics of hers yet. Camera battery died and I can't find my charger.

Joan~ Here are more pics of my window area. I have 4 hand painted tiles framed in the front by 2" of painted wood on the shelf part of my window. They have been there since the house was built and represent the town cove view in back of my house~ (the cove is calm, but about ½ mile down it becomes the Atlantic ~ huge surfÂ. I am on outer Cape Cod). I would never change them as they are part of the cape feel of the house. The paint there is from 1992 and still not showing any water effects! I have included a pic of my DDÂs treatment of her window (bigger than mine). She has black honed granite and elected to use black painted wood for the back shelf Ânot granite. It is holding up really well (unless you look closely, you would think it is granite). As you can see she did use the granite on the short wall going up from the sink. I donÂt have paint in my still unfinished kitchenÂalso I am undecided about backsplash, etc. Did you get tired of making decisions?? After the holidays I will visit a few good tile places near me and get a feeling for what is out there. I am tending toward crackled subway tiles. In the meantime I will live with paint and procrastinate for awhile!! I hope Cindy gets back here as I want to give her holiday greetings. Carole
