What is a good source for garden markers? I need at least 200...would like to use a labeler to mark them. Thanks!

I use and like the markers from Paw Paw Everlast Label Company.
They are made in the USA, hold up well, and now have rounded corners on the rose markers.

I tried the cap style labels, but found that the plates soon became loose and slipped off. Their prices include free shipping.

Here's a cute diy version at the link.

You can use the sealer lid from canning jar lids write names with sharpie and punch 2 holes at the top of the lid one on the left one on the right. Use small pull tie wraps through the two holes put a tomato stake stick against the back of the lid and secure it using the tie wrap. Cut the stakes to the length you need. Doing a bunch at once goes fast.

Midnightsmum, If you click on the little flag in the upper right corner of each post, you can let administration know of your concerns. I've done it several times when there have been obvious attempts at guiding people to commercial sites---often completely unrelated to the topic being discussed. As soon as you submit a concern, the post you flagged will disappear while they evaluate the situation. I flagged the post that had been just above yours and it disappeared. However, I think Houzz may be more forgiving of that sort of spam than many of us, since they are, primarily, a commercial site who's goal is to connect consumers with services. Those businesses are their customers, in some cases. I don't know where they draw the line. I guess we'll find out. Martha

Sorry if this is a repeat; I 'stole' this idea from someone else: buy new CLEAN tiny, tiny clay pots. The sort too small to really keep something alive, usually at Michael's or other big craft stores the 2" across are 3/$1.00. Wash and dry them throughly. Must be bone-dry. Write the plant name & info with a sharpie, paint a pretty design on remainder with exterior paints (I always have cans and cans of mark-down house paint I use for birdhouses.) Spray with clear sealer. Take a nice heavy-duty wire clothes hanger, not the wimpy ones the drycleaner gives you. Untwist neck, with pliers ball up the whole hook/neck area and feed wire through pot so that the ball becomes a stopper inside the little pot. Gently curve the wire from the pot up and then down - making a large 'C' shape. Now when you thrust the end of the wire deeply into the ground the little pot dangles and even bobs a bit like a large snowdrop or bluebell. I buy the labels that look like Sharlene's from Paw Paw Everlast Label company in Michigan. The labels are actually zinc, and they last quite well with either a paint marker from an art store or the mechanical pencil marker they sell with the labels. It's kind of like a laundry pencil and it stands up to weather pretty well. I'm too lazy to spend the time making labels for 1000 roses with the label maker, as gorgeous and professional as those labels look. I need something I can whip together quickly when roses arrive. The posts will eventually start to deteriorate a bit after 6-8 years and sometimes they need the writing reinforced, but they recover pretty well from being stepped on a lot (ask me how I know - smile). The website is https://everlastlabel.com/ and they get a top 5 rating from Dave's Garden Watchdog website. I love their service and shipping is free and fast. I usually order 500 labels at a time in the standing kind that Sharlene showed, which is style E (they call these rose style labels - smile). They have a ton of other styles, including hang tags if you prefer those. The price for 100 labels is $43.50, with free shipping. The new rounded corners are nice on the face plates since you're less likely to scratch your leg on them as you're avoiding the rose canes themselves. Do you mean supplier? I think this is a
DIY task. Just look for hardwood garden stakes on the landscape supplies Sydney website. Paint the top end white and you have your instant
marker. Another option is to buy pre-painted or steel capped stakes/pegs.

I cut strips from aluminum drink cans. Put them on a softish surface (like a notepad), and write on them with ballpoint pen. The writing is embossed in the surface and stands up to all kinds of weather. The strip can be pushed into the ground, or loosely curled around a branch.

Recently, I've been taking a ceramics class at the senior center. I'm making simple stakes with the plant names embossed in the fresh clay with rubber stamps. Once fired, should last millennia!
