Can I sunproof fabric?? for the gazebo
Comments (8)Hi all, Just was Googling re: Sun/UV protection spray and found this page, but some of the links on here are no longer live. My specific question is, I just bought some silk fabric for bedroom curtains, but being in Arizona, I am worried about the sun fading the fabric. What I'm reading about the UV sprays here is they seem more geared to use on heavier fabrics, like canvas, to improve their longevity. What I need is a spray that first of all, won't create spots on my silk fabric, and is generally safe for use on silk (won't eat the fabric, etc), and of course, will help keep the color intact. I do understand that silk in general won't hold up in the sun as long as say, canvas, but these are indoor curtains. Any advice?...See MoreHigh Quality Gazebos/Canopies
Comments (1)My wife bought a 10' X 10' canopy from Costco that was on a sturdy collapsible frame that she hauled around to various craft fairs and used as a covered booth. She's had it now for about 5 years and it is not worn. Admittedly, it doesn't sit out in the wind and rain every day, but it does seem of good quality and was well under $300. You might want to consider something like this. Canopies...See MoreSuggestions for this gazebo
Comments (17)I suppose I could always move to Texas and do your gardens for you :) Let me dream.......Having no idea what would survive your climate. Absolutely climbing roses. White clems with coral roses. Purple clems with pink roses. Red clems with blue roses. I see delphiniums as well. I see hybrid tea roses or peonies with shorter variety clematis at four points around the arbor making a square around the circle. Butterfly bush at points between. I like the undulating edges around the square. A tiered look without the upward/downward grade. A path that enters at a different location that meanders to the entrance of the arbour. Make it a secret. Are you going to sit within? I hope! A water fountain inside? Lowe's had an interesting new product here. Recycled tire edging. About 6" wide by one deep, 18' long roll. The only draw back was it should have been designed as a "T" shaped product. Thereby inserting the stem to about 6" under ground. Then it would be ideal. As it stands creeping grass is a pain. Oh wait....grass is a pain! The deepest edging you can buy will slow down the creepers. Not having any idea what your water conditions are like I would suggest soaker hose made from recycled tires available here at HD buried in the bed about 10-12" down makes a 100% water-wise watering system. That would be put down before you start planting. Mark it so you don't cut it with a shovel. Gosh, I wish I knew more about what withstands your hot summers. I can plan that for here but would it suit.....I'll dream a little more while I am weeding tomorrow (for someone else!!) Dana...See MoreCleaning gazebo canopy
Comments (1)When I think gazebo, I think too large for a washing machine. What size is it? If it is that small, as in quilt on your bed size, you can give it a try but to get rid of the mildew you need really hot water and hand scrubbing with a mild bleach solution. As for water proofing, I have never washed a gazebo canopy. I can tell you that when I wash anything that use to repel water. Even on cold water gentle cycle, they don't repel anymore until I spray water proofing on them....See Morespiritual_gardner
