It's dying! Help!

Hi! I'm new to the forum and I've had a bonsai cherry tree for almost a year. It's been fine up until now. The leaves are drying out, starting at the tips. They dry up and curl and then fall off. There's a little bit of white power on the leaves, but no sign of insects. The moss at the base of the trunk is all white and there is black on the trunk. It almost looks like it's rotting. Is this a fungus problem? I'd really like to save it!

Thank you!
