You could cut thin slices from firewood then glue them one filling the spaces with masonary.
It could be very cheap and I think it looks cool.

yes, I agree with some kind of faux log house look. You could use treated lumber (1x6 or so) stain them dark, dark brown and then use white masonary to adhere them, apply the boards horizontally to mimic logs. It could be very rustic and northwoods looking. And easy and relativly cheap.

Look in the most recent issue of better homes &g's. A couple did their carport in thin limestone veneer. It went fr. ugly to wow.

I like the look of the round sawed off logs, but what would keep the concrete/mortar from eating away at the metal? and what would keep the wood slices from rotting?? I am asking, cause I would do this, too, but am afraid it would only be temporary.............

Is it painted now? What color? Is it corrugated metal? If you like the cottage garden look how about a homemade potting bench, or if there is a door in the middle, a bench on each side of the door, loaded with potted plants or garden art, pots with trailing vines or a bucket full of twigs.

These benches have a low shelf under the main counter, and higher shallower shelf or two above the counter. Very easy to make with scrap wood. It is supposed to be crude and rustic. You only have to make it as deep as a book shelf, if you are just using it to hide the shed. Otherwise the counter is as deep as a kitchen counter, and the same heighth. The shelves below the countertop are as deep as you wish, and the shelves above the countertop are normal no deeper than bookshelves.

The countertop is usually boards laid across the frame with a gap between to allow water to drain through. You can stain it for a woodsy look, or paint it white, or green, and even crackle finish or use faux finishes. put garden items, or pots of flowers on shelves. Lean a wagon wheel against it. Decorate it up with pots of vines.

Painting a metal shed might not be bad, especially if it is already painted. For instance, a deep green with white potting benches in front, or a grey-taupe color, with dark wood stained benches in front for an English Tudor look.

I had to repaint aluminum storm window frames last summer because they had already been painted and the paint was flaking off. I just slabbed on white Painters Touch all purpose paint by Rustoleum from Sears. I like that paint. It is easy to use, cheap,grabs the metal and dries hard. It looks so much better than half painted and peeling. When you are painting something beat up and lousy what does it matter?

Thanks, all. I've decided to paint it. It's corrugated metal. I should have also mentioned that it sits near another larger wooden shed that I painted dark gray with white fake Victorian trim accents. I'd better stick to the same theme. The metal shed has double doors, so I cant put window boxes. The 2 small windows on the front have shutters. I think I should repaint it to look Victorian, doing a faux treatment to make those windows look tall and narrow like the building next to it. I can do that with paint. Here goes! It will need some fake gingerbread painted over the door. That should be enough. I have thrown out the idea of building a trellis against the front to camouflage it. Way too much work! Paint is the thing.

I put a little porch (size of twin bed) on the side of mine, kinda like a tiki hut look. Putting a wood shed on other side to hold earthquake supplies...if this 2 story goes, it would bury it in the garage. I wanted the porch on front but not enough for width. I may put a trellis in front of doors and put up vines. My shed is metal and low roof. I did put a scrap piece of a table top on the ground like a little patio, lol.
