I picked up an entire selection of pickling spices - Bay leaves, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, celery seeds, dill seeds, Jamaican Allspice, black peppercorns, Szechuan peppercorns, red pepper flakes, yellow mustard seed, and curry powder - at a health food store yesterday. The only item on my list that they didn't have was brown mustard seed. There's a larger health food store on the other side of town. I'll to there for those seeds and the Kosher salt. Everything was so very fresh, in bulk, and sooo much cheaper than I would have paid for the jarred spices at a grocery store. My tomatoes here in North Dakota are just starting to come on with small green tomatoes. I plan on making several batches of these four versions of pickled green tomatoes. Or find/make a frame that you like and get a mirror cut for it. For traditional style have them bevel the edge of the mirror. It's more expensive this way than using an off-the-shelf beveled mirror, but you can have a more interesting frame that way. I've made some craftsman style mirrors in cherry with through tenons and ebony pins that came out really well. It's nice not to be restricted to stock sizes.

Google search didn't turn up anything at all. I just know who carries what type of decor. I am sure there are many I don't know about. I have four 16"x16" framed mirrors (in mirrored frames) in my breakfast area that I got from Home Goods and I could probably replace the inner mirror with a print. I dont' recall seeing a mirrored "frame" as large as 24" at Home Goods but they sell so fast I could easily have missed it. Bee could be right so do keep looking. Also check Two's Company website. Mila - sounds like you have a plan, and I know what you mean about not wanting to wait to follow through on your plan. There's always room for more roses if you get creative! Glad the pictures helped you get tempted - they're all great climbers and you can't go wrong with any of the three you mentioned. Summers - for sure you'd have to finagle a way to attach the canes to the trees, and that's getting way too close to Quadra for my skin's sake. He's big and thorny, and between two trees he'd be just waiting to pounce. For sure you'd need another kind of support in addition to the trees, or he'd be flopping on your other roses as you mention. I used to grow my Quadra as a free-standing bush and he was at least 7' wide and aggressive with space. Can you stretch some sort of trellis or arch between the trees for extra support? He might not bloom as much in part shade beneath trees, but I'm all for giving it a try if that's where he is. I have Veilchenblau beneath a huge oak tree and it's pretty impressive (though it doesn't want to climb). Cynthia
