Webers are everywhere, I have owned a couple through the years friends have owned them and they are fine grills for the price (the charcoal ones) But Webers you can buy everywhere, are far cheaper depending on the model, have tons more advertising so of course you are always going to have more people recommending something of which virtually everyone has or have owned. That's like saying on a post about Beer. 1 count the number of people that recommend Budweiser 2 count the number of people that recommend Deschutes Brewery, "The Abyss" Bud is one of the worst beers ever brewed, it is classic horse pee as far as beer goes. YET it sells more than any other American beer, nothing comes close because it is sold everywhere and puts out many millions in advertising. 1000s upon 1000s would recommend Budweiser as their beer of choice in this country. Now Deschutes Brewery The Abyss ale is one of the very best beers in the world, not just the USA. That would be my recommendation for the best beer. Now which one is truly "better"? Horse pee with millions in advertising that is available on every street corner in the country for cheap or truly one of the best beers in the world, only available from one place and only a couple months out of the year for $14 a 22oz bottle? If you only have say $150 for a grill then a good little Weber Kettle is by far the best choice. If you are talking about spending between $500-$1200 though? Any number of Kamado type grills be it the Big Green Egg, Primo, or the Vision are better BY FAR. Most of the Webers mentioned here I think are what, about $600-$900? The Vision I got from Costco was $570, less money, lifetime warranty, costco return policy, will BBQ, Grill, Sear, Smoker, Water Smoker, Pizza Oven, Wok, easy to start, very efficient use of charcoal, can maintain almost exact temps like you can on your indoor range from 200 up to 800+ degrees. So $570 Kamado or $600++ Weber Gas is a total no brainer as far as usability and value for the money. If Avid still prefers Gas no matter what then for the money the Solaire Infravection grills are far better than the Webers though cost a few hundred more, but what is an extra $200 when you are spending $1200 when you get a far better grill? Lower priced Weber Charcoal grills are hard to beat. If you are spending $900-$1500 then there are certainly better options for that price. and Charcoal beats the heck out of gas for absolutely everything except for ease of use.

Well, newdawn, I'm one of the exceptions to your rule... I do consider myself rather a good cook (former pro, culinary school grad) and it's gas all the way here! :-) The hassle of charcoal wasn't worth it to us - we found that when we had just a charcoal grill we rarely dragged it out and fired it up. Really only when we had a party and a whole slew of people to cook for, but just for the two of us it was too much hassle. Not enough return on investment, as my resident corporate geek would say. It was a good grill, too, not one of those cheap, thin hunk-a-junk things - we handed it off to someone else and I think it's still in use. Got a handmedown gas grill and suddenly we were grilling multiple times a week in the "reasonable" months, and last year we upgraded to a pretty nice (I'd say middle of the road, can't afford the super-wowza ones!) gas grill. We keep two tanks so we never run out - gas starts running low, we switch in the fresh one and within a few days have the empty one refilled at one of the local heating-oil-and-propane dealers. On the very rare occasion when we toss a grid onto my big copper "firebowl" and cook on that - again, that's a group thing and we've got the firebowl going already - it's hardwood chunk charcoal only. The chemicals that go into the mainstream briquettes are just nasty and I think make the food taste weird. (Doubly so if regular liquid starter was used.) "All natural" briquettes are out there but they cost the same as chunk charcoal. IME and JMO, of course. Penzeys has a Chicago Steak Seasoning that rocks - we use it enough that I buy it in half-pound bags!

Oh my god!!! same as we had. we had three neighbors one an ex-cop and their 11 year of daughter all watched as Alex and his buddy carried off my Travertine 19 pieces of pool coping. Gary and his son Tom called me a liar and told other customers I was a crazy Anaheim hills lady making wild accusations. They covered it up, but eventually had to admit and replace the travertine. 6 months of stress and aggravation and tears, but eventually the pain stopped and they left. It didn't need to be this way. We put cameras in after that! The cement guy did not use rebar and everything cracked within days everywhere...they also tried not to put the drains in around the pool. Check their work...the drains have to be connected...mine were not....we pulled up chairs and sat down and made them redo the drains. They still missed one. I am so sorry that you are going through this too. They took all the joy out of my pool for me. Don't use their pool start up guy Fred. Pick your own. He charged me $375 to pour two bottles of muradic acid into my pool. Apparently that is start up. Do it yourself.

Size reference could be helpful. Also the picture appears to have a oval in it so it could be flat or it could simply dip in the middle. If flat it could be a table or just a cookie stand.
