Did you see the rug in the 6x9? That explaination was hand-knotted all the way. The reviewer gave it 5 stars, too. I haven't been able to figure out the manufacturer. I try to use the "code words". It might be whoever makes the Legacy and a few others that show up a lot. They use the same color words. Here is a link that might be useful: 6x9

oldbat, I don't have any particular place to get the wire mesh sheets for the cabinet doors yet. I know I'm doing it but I have other decisions to make before I get to that! I may end up just doing a dark colored chicken wire, but will decide later what I end up doing. I have googled numerous times "wire mesh/grille for cabinet doors" & have come up w/ many places that sell it. I want to say you might even be able to order some from one of the big box stores - Home Depot, Lowes, etc. If you have a builders supply store in your area, I bet they either carry it or can order it for you. I've run across one on the internet that is in the UK that has some beautiful ones. Add "UK" to your search & my guess is it'll come up. I'm sure whatever you do will turn out great because the cabinet is such a pretty one!

My wife and I are moving into what will be our "last" house (we are early 60's), and are looking for a nice woven carpet that will last as long as we do - preferably about 20 years. We don't want fancy patterns, but rather a plain color as we have an extensive wall art collection that would clash with too many things going on. Very few guests, no kids, not even family. Just dogs, but they tend to like beds anyway. So I would expect this is a low-traffic environment. (I do my running laps outside!). We have been told that woven carpet is the only carpet that will last this long - and prefer nylon only (stain resistance), but will get wool if that is all that is available. Frankly however, we have no idea of where to look - and have experienced that carpet dealers are like rug dealers - kind of slippery. So the bottom line is who makes good woven carpets (not the best but very good) - and what do they generally cost? I have been told to expect in the $15-$20 per sq ft (installed and padded) range (in the SF Bay Area). That seems a bit much, but we have always purchased new homes, never replaced a carpet - but rather the home gets sold first. We'd need something that would be fairly easy for a dealer to obtain also as we are limited on wait time (less than a month for sure). We have spent a lot on the remodel, so the carpet should look the part. But it's only for the bedrooms, the rest of the house is hardwood (some with rugs), and tile in bathrooms. Or am I looking for things that don't exist? I just want to know what to expect before we go in to a dealer. After buying tile - I don't think I could deal with that nonsense again. We only have 4 (3 small bedrooms) to carpet that total 850 sq ft. We have dogs, so it seems that Berber is not a good idea. For stains, it is best to get colors that "dog stains of all types" tend to blend in with. Any comments - on what to look for, what brands and styles, and how much to expect to get soaked for? Thanks.
