It looks like Bambusa vulgaris 'Vittata' PAINTED BAMBOO. There are a few other possibilities, but the new shoots in your pictures look a bit different. If you dig one yourself, dig one that is older, or one that has limbs and has leaved-out already. The younger culms won't fare as well. Dig as much of a rootball as you can, and you can cut the tip of the culm off for ease during transporting. Keep the roots moist from the time of digging to transplanting. From a single culm division, you should have a very nice plant in a couple to three years, especially in your warm climate. Good Luck Kt

I've never grown these. Without your climate zone input may be meaningless. What does well in one area may sulk in another. However I have read very good reports on "Alpenview". Great branching, lovely form, good growth and increases. "] The same hybridizer (Keppel) also introduced "Crowned Heads" about 6 years before "Alpenview". I was awestruck by "Crowned Heads". Totally gorgeous deep color in the standards and wonderful contrast. But I have heard it does not perform well in all parts of the country. The other 2 I've not read about. Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)

Issues with usernames came about because lots of usernames were already "taken" by other people who were already member of Houzz. I'm someone who was affected by that. "Lindsey_CA" was apparently already in use by a Houzz member, so my username is actually "webuser_xxxxxx" with each "x" being replaced by a number. But, I am able to change my DISPLAY name to Lindsey_CA. Although I am glad for that, it really makes little sense. If more than one of us can be shown as Lindsey_CA, it might be kind of difficult to tell who's who. I guess that's where the avatar comes in. But if more than one person with the same display name doesn't have any avatar at all... Oh, well...
