hi david :) we have been making tufted sofas and sectionals for a long time, so we've received some feedback from customers in regards to button tufting over the years. buttons on seats can be more uncomfortable than buttons on back pillows, also sometimes zippers or buttons on jeans or other pants can snag on seat cushion buttons. usually clothes don't interfere with buttons on back pillows or arms. when buttons pop off, usually pets or little fingers (kids and pets love to play with buttons) are to blame, so you may want to skip buttons if you have little ones. let me know if you have any other questions eva @ MONARCHSOFAS.COM FOLLOW MONARCH ON INSTAGRAM :)

I think it would depend on the couch in question. In general used uphostered furniture is a huge bargain. I think if one goes to the home and inspects in person, one would get a good idea of the kind of household it was. If is is stained or odiferous, then don't buy it. In general - not always - a good quality sofa is simply more comfortable to sit on. And often the fabrics used are more beautiful. That of course depends on the sofa. Of course it is easier to go to IKEA and order a sofa versus taking some time to track down used sofas which may or may not pan out. You probably wouldn't be able to take home a sofa the same day unless you were incredibly lucky in terms of finding a used style you like. I would assume that these sofas are place holders while you wait for the sofa . you actually want to come into inventory.

A 3-seat sofa and two comfy upholstered armchairs are your best bet for comfort and flexibility. Second option would be a reversible chaise sofa and one chair. The chaise that flips from right to left will give you many more options for arranging the room. Cornering furniture eats floor space, and says you don't really have room for your stuff. I would eliminate the cornered armoire or place it where it can lie flat against the wall. Maybe it would be useful in one of the kids' empty bedrooms. That will open the possibility of some window treatments that will soften and cozy the space.

A neutral-colored sofa will provide versatility while allowing your chairs and rug to stand out. Nice rug, by the way. I think a soft gray or beige could blend perfectly while offering a sophisticated look. You can look into customizable sofas because you can choose their size and color. A few months ago, we bought the Anna sofa from this store with custom sofas. It cost about $2100. It's a good price, compared to other stores where for such a sofa you would pay more than $3000. And they have fabrics in many colors, so you should be able to find something that suits your tastes. Also, consider floor-length curtains made of light, airy fabric like linen or sheer cotton. These will allow natural light to filter through so it will enhance the space's openness. For lighting, forget the wall sconces. A floor lamp and maybe some desk lamps would look much, much better.
