Here's out it turned out. I ordered in several, stuck them up near the sink and new countertops, decided on the matte black with brass accents. Then my husband came home and when I showed him the faucet I picked out, he had a man meltdown over the stainless steel sink and "weird faucet". (He's so 2003) . Sidebar on sinks: I went on Zillow and pulled up houses that are listed for over a million dollars in our city to prove that 8 out of 10 had basically the same stainless steel type sink and it's not "cheap" looking. I'm the plumber showed up today so I had very little time to choose - texted him photos of the 3 faucets, gonna assume he asked around his work peeps for opinions. I texted it to 2 friends that have excellent taste and beautiful houses - they both picked the black and gold without knowing it was my choice . A little while later, he called and said he "guessed the black one would be okay" (code for his work peeps liked the black one too) Here it is , it will look better when I get the pendants installed over island

Thank you! The sconce is listed as a "wall sconce" by Aerin Lighting. It also comes in Antique Brass and it pivots - may be helpful over floating shelves. It will be hardwired. I've been searching for a sconce that is somewhat affordable and does not look like a bathroom or entry/hallway fixture, nor industrial. I liked the clean lines of this one, but am certainly open to suggestions. We cannot use can lights due to the roof line above the ceiling - existing can lights nearly caught on fire due to space restrictions (and I suspect moisture). They no longer work, but cannot be removed without tearing out the ceiling, hence a remodel. The ceiling will be stained somewhat dark. I like bronze spots best, but worry about mixing colors. If you advise that bronze spots will work with brass sconces, then that is the direction I would prefer over the various nickel finishes. Will it be OK to use black metal wine racks if we use bronze spots? The spots are by Pure Edge Lighting and called "Rebel" I really need and look forward to your professional advice! Thank you!

To keep it simple, these "rules" have always worked for me. 1. Like fixtures, like finishes -faucets are chrome, light fixtures are gold, (for example), you'll step out into the whirlwind if you're thinking that the light fixture above the sink has to have the same finish as the faucet. 2. Black is like pepper, just a little will do for accent-cabinet hardware is a good place, a sprinkle. 3. Max of three metals in a room, if one of those is black, then that counts as one of the three 4. In a kitchen, if the appliance you need only comes in one metal choice, like the door handles of the refrigerator in chrome (for example), than make sure that is one of your three metal choices, and it's fine if the faucet is chrome too. (In case you were thinking that your cabinet hardware had to be chrome too because they're handles-not) Hope you find this helpful.

this is beautiful stacey and you have inspired me to fix up my own bathroom. I love the gold fixtures. A question for you--- outside this room, are all your fixtures ( things like door handles, lights etc in nearby rooms the same gold or are the metals in other areas of your home different. If so, what other metals are in nearby rooms.
