need help with color pallet
Comments (3)Sugar, I don't understand where the palette was, I can't get mine high enough to disappear...do you mean it docked ? If it docked you can fix that so it won't happen again. Go to File/Preferences... On the left side choose....Palettes. On the right side disable (remove check from) palettes that you don't want to dock. Next time (if there is a next time) go to File/Workspace and load Default or Custom....if you have saved a custom workspace (and if you haven't, you should). The great thing about doing that is, it will change every thing back but doesn't effect what you are working on. Joy...See MoreNeeds your color pallet opinions.. paint time !
Comments (15)Diymike, Oh so glad you found the color, Petra66 is the best. Okay, I am going to give you my color advice and I totally understand if you flush it. But hear me out first and think about it. If you want the pendants to shine or be an artistic piece you should use a complimentary color as a back drop. Complimentary can be a confusing term: Compliment sounds like when someone says "you look great" but what it means in the world of color is the opposite. Use a color on the color wheel opposite of the blue. What color is that? orange Orange??? But wait, if you look closely at your other colors you are working with (the counter, the wood, the floors,) you will notice they have oranges, browns and warm hues to them. They are in the color family of orange. I say go with your favorite color. If you love blue. I think you will discover a blue hue to be the best for your kitchen. Go with your instinct. Blue ideas that might look amazing with your elements. And will make those beautiful lights rock!!! And if you dislike the advice I won't be at all offended. I am more about sharing ideas rather than trying to change people. : ) ~boxer > Sassy Blue Sherwin Williams Verditer Blue Sherwin Williams Parma Gray Farrow & Ball and Mahogany FB Claydon Blue by Farrow and Ball but this looks just like Cadet Blue by Behr (to my eyes anyway) Blue Wave Benjamin Moore Chinese Blue Farrow and Ball Aquarius BM Reflecting Pool Sherwin Williams Glass Slipper BM Do you have a lot of undercab lighting or other lights? This blue would be amazing. Those pendants would rock and it would compliment all the elements in your kitchen. And being from New England I love the name. Comments (2)Hi Danielle, I'm Poorvi. I have created a mock-up of your room to help you visualize better. Like you stated, I have added a chandelier, art above the couch and a large bookshelf in the corner of the room. I wouldn't crowd the place too much. Adding swivel chairs would be a great move if you want this room to function as an entertainment center (to watch tv), a conversation space, or a library. I placed a sideboard in the dining and also a crockery unit(can be ignored if it isn't necessary). Add rugs in both areas to pull the space together. For wall: I have used SW Pineapple Cream to compliment all the wooden elements in the room. Let me know if you want me to work on more color and layout. Comments (4)You could go in so many directions. Look at lots of inspiration pictures on Pintetest - search “brown couch in living room“ and ignore the couch size or shape and placement, just consider accessorizes. - Save the rooms you like. Then review all your pictures and make a plan before buying anything. Be sure to look for smaller scale pieces and maybe do a floor plan to scale (including windows and doorways) so you know what will work. Also go with lighter furniture. In regards to a console, tv is large and so not to overwhelm room any more than necessary, suggest a low profile console in a light color (one with storage may be handy)...See More- 12 years ago
