I'm going to cancel that order. I still love the rug, but now don't have anywhere to use it. I do need to figure out what to do about the old floor furnace grate that's visible in the first photo showing the new rug that I posted. I've had an old throw rug covering it which looks awful with the new rug, so I guess I'll just look for a throw rug that blends better. The floor furnaces are gone (we had central heat installed after we moved in), but unfortunately the hole in the floor is still there. I can't even imagine having it patched with wood floor, as I think that would come out looking strange -- just don't know what to do! Darn old house with its antiquated leftover fixtures!

Also, I should have given a few dimensional details. The table is 36" wide at the ends, 40" wide in the center. Ceiling height is 92".

It’s hard to tell the exact neutral tones on a monitor, so these are just general ideas. Do you like these traditional styles below? They’re all Karastans from Incredible Rugs and Decor (I’ve ordered rugs from them, good experiences). They have a returnable sample option, so you can see how it would look without having to return a big rug. I’d definitely do this in your case, because too gray or too tan could clash, and mock ups are not always the true tones. If you go to their site, you can do mock-ups to get general ideas. Imagine with pillows that would coordinate, solid or patterned (or both).
