The issue w/ the spice rack is this. We have a cooktop island. Next to the island is our walkway and then our Pantry. Hard to visualize I will try to get on later w/ pictures. The walkway between the island and the pantry by Code needs to be 36". My husband thoought he could get away w/ only have 30" told the KD to do it that way even though the KD said it could be a problem. Our GC found out before the cabinets arrived and said you need to fix it because it won't pass inspector and if you decide not to fix it now and the inspector doesn't pass it after you put countertops in etc you could have a serious problem and lots of extra $$$. So we lost the 6 inch pull out spice rack next to our cooktop. WE have 15 inch drawers and a cabinet under neath w/ pull outs for pots and pans and to the right of that is the baker's rack which cannot come out. The only choice was the spice rack- 6 inches lost , equaled 6 inches gained in the walkway. So we looked all over for extra room. I thought of making the trash bin smaller but we'd have to send it back to the cabinet makers and it will take forever, I don't think we could just cut it down since it's on sliders. The only space we had was next to our upper corner cabinet and yes it's very hard to reach. Like I said not the best solution but we hated to lose to it.. Just seeing if there is any other option. We've tried looking for space everywhere. WE donÂt' have much space for fillers or anything we utilized a lot of space for drawers and cabinets. J

Lyban, That is indeed the IKEA GRUNDTAL spice rack which they no longer offer. They still offer the version with just one shelf. There is at least one on ebay. ebay link Closetmaid makes a rail system with a similar rack but I don't know what the specs are or if you can get components separately:

I use a lazy susan from Rubber Maid purchased back in the Pleistocene era that I keep in a cabinet away from the stove. Certain things are kept in the refrigerator. Everything is dated when purchased, and every 2 years I go through it all and through out what is old, unless I taste it and it tastes good. I do love to save those little bottles. They are great for making your own spice blends, sorting buttons of different colors, screws of different sizes, making your own spice blends. My mother used to keep her spare buttons in beautiful cake tins. Remember when people gave you gifts of cake in beautiful colored aluminum cake tins or beautiful boxes that looked like hat boxes? Well, they were our repository for buttons. It made it a treat to hunt down that special button for mom. Too bad those days are gone! The tiny jars from jam samples are good for storing those tiny quantities of saffron that might come in a cellophane packet. Or craft supplies. Who said recycling is a new thing?
