I'm planning a wall to wall vanity in my tiny powder room . I only have less than 38 inches to work with, so I'm going with a built in look. I do agree if I had 65 inches, I'd consider a gap on either side because I like the furniture look, but that limits you to 57 inches, so you have room to pick up that pesty eyeliner pencil that decides to roll off the edge. I prefer accent walls to be those with no redeeming architectural features. If you want one wall to be a different color, I would choose the longest wall that has no windows, doors or a fireplace. If this isn't your furniture, then we can't suggest a color. Paint should work with the fabrics and textiles in a space. Bring those in, take fresh pix, and post as a new dilemma.

I agree with Hallet that if you are able to post a photo, you will get much better and more specific advice for your room. But in general, covering the entire wall with curtains could be a missed opportunity to bring in some art or a mirror, depending on what furniture is in front of that wall and location of window.

Iri, thank you for your time, the rest of the house is plaster and I could just drywall it, it's just a toilet room we are sectioning off in a large bathroom. However if you ever have roof leaks the plaster doesn't mold which is a nice bonus. I have a way of making things harder then they actually have to be. It's such a small area I should just forget it. I found Georgia Pacific has a product that says HIGH SUCTION PAPER-FACED GYPSUM BOARDS SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR VENEER PLASTERS. However it's not available down here, at least not at the bigbox stores.
