I'm going to defend Ikea lighting. It's one third the cost of similarly designed stuff elsewhere. Plus the designs are pretty good. Try going to Lowes for a bathroom sconce. It's amazingly depressing how bad all the designs are - lot's of material in useless florid shapes. As for the amount of material it's better to use less material in an object that will be rarely handled and does not move. That makes it cheaper and better for the environment.

Start by contacting the men's clothing stores in your area, the ones that provide made-to-measure services. They may have access to fabrics that may suit you. I have to be honest, I've never seen light gray fabric with darker pinstripes, (and I'm not sure those are "pinstripes"). But that doesn't mean they don't exist. My boss has access to fabrics from Holland and Sherry, Southwick, Hertling, and S. Cohen. They are pricey, upwards of $60 a yard.

Watching TV and noticed these lights that were used for what looks like a photo studio. It's a cluster of what looks like drum shades and I think it would look great in one of my rooms. Yes, it's a dog jumping to catch a Frisbee.
