Please read the following recall before you buy EA. Ethan Allen "American Impressions" and "New Country" rectangular dining tables Could collapse and cause injury. Products: 7,071 wood tables sold from 8/03 to 1/05 at Ethan Allen furniture stores nationwide for $1,069 to $1,199. "American Impressions" table bears model number 24-6414; "New Country" table, model number 33-6404. Model number is stenciled on underside of table. Hazard exists because table may be missing some of the eight small wooden blocks that are supposed to be located on its underside to add stability. Ethan Allen has received 33 reports of incidents in which tables may have collapsed as a result of missing blocks. No injuries have been reported. What to do: Inspect underside of table for stability blocks. If there are fewer than eight, call Ethan Allen at 888-339-9398 to arrange for free in-home repair. The room is about 7 1/2 x 12... so it's pretty narrow. I was thinking if I put the table and a banquette booth against the far left wall, it would open up the space more. I've seen some pics of a similar layout and I didn't see any with rugs under the table. 1. Is the banquette idea good/bad?, 2. Keep rug and just put under table if a banquette or kill rug all together? Thanks all

I agree with the above to not paint them. And "brown" furniture is trending again. :) I like your seat covers. I think it feels heavy to you because every piece in the room is formal. Maybe mix in a more contemporary chandelier, a mirror or abstract art instead of the large painting over your buffet, and a different rug. You can find real turkish rugs on etsy for a very reasonable price. Or a seagrass would look nice too. (Seagrass can be cleaned with water/liquid products, stay away from jute and sisal in the dining groom.) Simplify the sconces and centerpiece, and have nothing on the table or else a simple something in the center--no dishes or tablecloth. This room is similar to yours. Real rug with contrasting orangey colors, living flowers, mirror. This one has antique but simplified lighting, one simple centerpiece, mirror.

Thank you so much for the feedback everyone :) . We ont need a 6 seater regularly, but I get a little worried about maintenance with tables with a leaf, would the connections get dirty ? I have a toddler who can get very messy :). It looks like the consensus is 54 , what are your thought on round vs square ?
