Sliding doors on a reach in closet are awful as they block access to one side or the other. I was always sliding them. Hated it and eventually removed them. The only advantage to sliding doors over french doors is they don't take up wall space.

My wardrobe is 4m wide with 4 glass sliding doors, 2x white glass and 2x mirrors it works very well but be careful when using white glass sometimes it has greenish tinge due to glass colour itself.

I have a walkin closet in my master that had mirrored sliders. I removed the doors and tracks when I put in vinyl plank flooring and I really like to openness of no doors but wanted the ability to close closet off on occasion. I put up an attractive verticle blind that gives me many diversified looks. The blind takes up minimal space, can be fully closed, vanes can be rotated at various degrees, can be opened as much or as little as needed to access the closet or fully open for a larger master suite feel, many various options for aesthetic appearance. My closet is not visible when you enter the room, it is across from the vanity area. But with minimal storage space in a 2 bedroom condo, it is not always the neatest! The verticle blind was a relatively inexpensive option that is surprisingly attractive. I also used a verticle blind to cover my laundry closet in my condo, again with a lot of flexibility. Much more attractive than an accordion door and takes up less space than my old bifold. And is easily updated with replacement vanes, vinyl or fabric in a variety of colors. An alternative to the usual door options.
