Frequently in natural stone the sink is fabricated as an undermount, so there will be a seam at the top of the sink corresponding with the thickness of the countertop.

This appears to be a beveled joint and the vein alignment is pretty nice. You can only get close to a match with One surface of the sink made from the sink cutout at most, the other sides of the sink have to be made from other pieces. Sometimes you can't make any of the 5 sides of the sink from the cutout of the top because you lose some dimension of material, and the sides of the sink can't be smaller than the cutout.
