Not a 2 person umbrella, but they are pretty good. We keep 'em in the cars.

I checked my vented umbrella that I’ve been using for a few years and the brand is Repel. I looked for a link and it looks like some of the ones they sell do not have the venting which you need for windy conditions. I don’t think it would cover two people though and it certainly isn’t cute.
yup.. definitely waiting until i know the weather but want to have one selected and ready to go. I havent used an umbrella in many years. Even when I was going to the office, uber dropped me right at the door!
I'll never understand leaving a purse unattended.
I never carry a purse. Either a cross bag or a fanny pouch
Pocketbook, handbag, purse, I don’t think there are universally agreed upon definitions and differentiations in the American English language. Cross body bag is just a subset of handbag.
That's a different version. I've never had okra in shrimp creole, it's always had tomatoes, and the rice is usually cooked separately. I will say, now you've made me hungry for the dish.
Shrimp Creole with Okra is very popular in Louisiana and parts of Texas, and I love the flavor of okra. I often make an African dish (from Marcus Samuelsson) that is mainly okra and tomato, but I prefer Shrimp Creole without tomato, as I can taste the okra and bell pepper better.
It is common to serve the dish over rice, but when making a small batch, it is nice to cook it with the rice, as this give the rice more flavor.
This is definitely my own version of Shrimp Creole, and so I made it the way I like it without considering how it has been made historically.
When I've had it in Cuban restaurants, it had tomato and no okra and therefore less of the flavor that I like.
Incidentally, I measured the pan I used, and it is 10-1/2" diameter, but the lid I used was 9-3/4" diameter, and so it did not fit exactly right, but it still worked.
If you cut the recipe in half for one serving, you can use a smaller pan, probably 8" diameter, but it needs to be deep enough.
I was inspired by paella when I decided to cook the rice with the rest of the ingredients. When I make gumbo, I never add rice and always serve the gumbo over the rice, but it is different with shrimp creole, which lends itself to having the rice mixed in - unlike gumbo.
Do you two need a room? 😂
Really! It is rude to whisper right in front of us all.
Sorry all. We know each other from way back-same home town. ETA: I know we are not the only ones who have done this, but now that we have been soundly reprimanded, we will stop. :-)
I looked online at TJ, but they were not listed. I froze four of mine, so we shall see in a week or so.
Do you have Aldi's? I've heard people rave about the ones they sell.

Outside furniture that easily invites bugs (as in wicker anything) with much detailing is a no for me. Cobwebs and creatures move in fast...and I am not going to spend most of my outside time unpacking covered furniture or cleaning the bugs off. Soft cushions are a never. For the reasons already stated and the idea that I need to keep them from getting wet--TOO MUCH TIME suckers. A carpent--outside=a haven for creepy crawlies to live under. ish ish ish. I live by the mantra its great to own stuff but when the STUFF owns you it's too much.
I heard you have rats. That's a lot worse than bugs.
Ruby, I saw the monkey one from them but the colors don't seem to work. They are some of the loveliest outdoor pillows around! Might get some for the outdoor deck of our MBR In Maine. The ones I have there are fading. As for this project, the turquoise color on my furnishings is proving tougher than I'd have thought. Also, so many pillows have delicate patterns that I don't think pair in mood with the suzani.
The girls liked the pineapple/bird ones too. I ordered two lumbar for the dining chairs, with the turquoise piping, Having them might be enough to tie things together without repeating it on the other furniture. We shall see. Found a 36" round table yesterday, still looking for chairs. Now they have to have a solid back as well so the pillows don't fall out. I am going to a few more places in person today to look around.
Ruby, I love the monkey with umbrella ones! I am going back to look past the first page. So much fun! Thanks for sharing the link.
Well that was different. Im happy with the result. That one was so annoying.
Dadoes, no I use dishwashing liquid and hot water to hand wash or dishwasher liquid and hot water to machine wash. Dish washing liquid is formulated differently from laundry detergent. It does not work properly in cold water. Our on demand water heater supplies aproximately 120 degree water.
We just watched episode 3. Yikes.
I really like it. The stairs are their own character in that series!
I also very much dislike the kitchen - I need lots of upper cabinets, and the only ones I see are part of the black hutch, which also is not attractive.
I love love the idea of an old hutch standing in for a run of cabs.
The exterior is very beautiful, but I don't especially like the interior - it seems very bland and lifeless,
Here we agree. The exterior is mission or craftsman, isn't it? They lose the thread inside. Need warmer colors. I knew we were in trouble when I saw the entry chandy.
Exterior and setting are magic.
The exterior and the views are gorgeous. I didn’t care for the overall floor plan. It looked too disjointed. And i agree the kitchen didn’t look functional with big hulk of black looming over the white island. I normally love a piece of cabinetry or an old hutch too, but this looks out of place with the rest of the kitchen.
My best product so far is denial...
^^It's been a long time ago but as I recall Spike asked for a donation of $15 and he would include a GW tee shirt. btw, I didn't come to this particular forum until after HTopics was tossed. I started at the GW Garden forums.
If it's for company I used to use wood but now I use pretty glass bowls of which I have a variety. For just the two of us I use Pyrex glass bowl and everything is mixed in the bowl with the toppings (cheese, dried cranberries, seeds , whatever) sprinkled on top.
I seldom plate a salad anymore because god knows who will eat what anymore. I, for instance, will always leave the mushrooms on my plate and won't even be polite and eat them.
(Thought the better of it and deleted!)
Got from Amazon. The largest one is great for a big salad, or potato salad. It's hard for me to get used to glass. I am about the last hold out on big Tupperware bowls. Loved them.
I recall reading an article about their hiring practices that explained the qualities they look for in potential employees - big ones being extroversion and positivity.
My opinion of Aldi gets worse every day. There have been a number of threads on their Aisle of Shame Facebook page dealing with the rubber mulch they sell. By far, the majority are negative. And for good reason; that's some nasty stuff! Threads are often closed by moderation and some of the more truthful posts are deleted.
I've never had bitter chard. IMPE, it's on a par with spinach - maybe a bit tangy from the oxalic acid. Perhaps something went wrong with yours, Eileen?
Walmart...2 shades for $32 click on link
It looks brand new. Doesn't he like living in a hotel? <hiss>
When you said the owner had designed it himself I'd expected something 'original', not this stone wedding cake.
Too bad, so sad. It's a reality show! What do you expect?
Too bad they missed out on the trip to Italy.
hmm I do wonder if maybe for the beginning episode the contestants have to bring their clothing, and then after the first one or two eliminations maybe there is a community closet :).
I can't recall if they are paid. We met with our friend i December, and I think the program was to start in late January. I forgot to watch but caught some on youtube to see her daughter.
They are not paid to participate.
Laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent are concocted differently. Dish washing liquid actually requires hot water to work properly. It is a chemistry/ energizing thing. If your laundry detergent says it is formulated to work in cold water it is. But deciding to believe it works as well as hot is one of those learned things. Do what makes you happy.
That 4 poster bed is gorgeous! Were you able to use it somewhere else?
Beautiful rooms! Perfect blend of elegant and comfortable.
Very nice! Love the new bed & chaise.
Unless you have some special dietary concerns, I wouldn't consider pizza for dinner as self-destructive. Fix yourself (or order) a salad to go with or eat a piece of fruit for dessert if it helps you feel better about it, but enjoy your pizza. A Friday night classic.
Give up. Dump the shoes into your Goodwill donation and find another brand that actually fits your foot.
Outdated makes me think I might go the other direction. My mother's, her mother's, and maybe even another generation before.
Use them!
I have my mom's circa 1950 aluminum canisters in the pantry. They're used. Same with some of her pots and pans.
I have a canister. We have limited storage, so I took a page from a Lillian Vernon set I once owned, and painted a coffee can the same yellow as my kitchen, and it holds coffee next to the coffeemaker.
Other than that, we have a bunch of glass jars from our family’s church. They had a lot left over after an event, and the next year the teens’ annual chili for ”souper bowl Sunday” saw my parents receiving at least a dozen of these jars of chili! After sharing, and transferring the rest to freezer storage, we now have them. They hold grains, cat treats, cookies, dried fruit, candy, whatever, and sit on a narrow shelf, and thereabouts. (and remind me that our cabinets need painting.) Meanwhile, because we also have limited counterspace, the flour and sugar are in the pantry.
Nope, flour and sugar are in the pantry.
