In my garden, bloom crispness and full bush are the big thing. Now I spray a fungicide every two weeks to keep the foliage on my bush's looking clean and healthy. Here are my top roses.

Munstead Wood---beautiful blooms, repeats quickly, smells great.

Molineux---Beautiful yellow blooms, tons of blooms, foliage from top to bottom.

Scepter d' Isle---Soft pink blooms in clusters, big healthy bush.

Hannah Gordan---Plenty of blooms in clusters and singles, foliage from the top to the bottom.

Lady of the Dawn---Huge bush, soft pink blooms, bee friendly.

Marchesa Boccella---beautiful pink blooms filled with petals, smells great, thick shrub like bush.

Louise Estes---Great pink blend blooms with a good scent, nice upright bush with beautiful foliage.

Ring of Fire---Lots of beautiful orange blooms with great foliage.

Hot princess---Fantastic deep pink blooms on an upright bush with shiny deep green foliage from top to bottom.

All great suggestions! I’ve been eyeing Olivia and scepter de isle. I did pick up Savannah as an own root at Lowes recently. I’m most worried about bloom fry as I do spray. I mostly stick to soft colors for an English style garden palette. Munstead wood looks divine. I love the form.

I've been following this thread since the get go. It's been amusing to say the least. EVERYBODY knows these people are in business to do one thing. TAKE YOUR $$$$. It's time to shut everything down and let these discussions fade into never never land. Unless of coarse you are inclined to continue to make noise. It's over people. If you got fleesed by these people, welcome to the world of "lets give these people a chance". Get over it this is a Rose Form. Not a bitch form.

Check the Grace thread. And I've not received my exclusive Ashley rose, but I haven't waited as long as you, though too long for me. Diane

It’s been nothing but excuse after excuse. I don’t think I will ever see those roses. At this point I just want my money back.

It looks like unkept Knock Out's to me.

I agree with Ken , it’s Knock Out. The area seems to be quite shaded, so most roses are going to grow long and thin for lack of sunlight. Perhaps you could plant in a sunnier location?

I agree with BenT that they are likely going to be leggy so long as they are in shade. However, they seem healthy and if you like the extra color in their location and don’t want to move them you might try some shade loving plants like ferns or larger hostas to hide their bare knees.

And next year you should see a huge difference in the bush's themself. The old saying, "first year sleep, second year creep, third year leap."

Princess Charlene de Monaco maiden blooms versus first flush of year two

I was disappointed in the form and color. I remember thinking, the ruffles are there, but not much else!

This bloom is from today. It’s gorgeous!

We have had nearly continuous 10-20 mph winds today and everything is pretty beat up looking, but I was excited to see this bloom. Now, this is what I was looking for!

Echo - yes, your roses are growing up and are really beautiful! I've never seen anyone show pictures to contrast first year versus 2nd year roses...great idea! Maybe you should do this next year too!

Also woody herbs like sage, rosemary and lavender tend to want dry conditions and roses are water hogs so they might not be compatible in your climate. I have lavender on the edge of some beds with roses but they face the hot dry street and tend to have little mulch where the roses are in the cozier parts of the bed with more protection and water.

Elena & Nippstress-
these are great points! I can still place the roses where Elena suggested and move the herbs to the far end where it’s dryer and out of the way incase I need to spray.

It’s been 8 years since I’ve had roses in ground. This has been a great refresher for me! Things I didn’t consider or simply forgot.

Thanks so much to everyone who commented! I truly appreciate it.
