If you go too google in Spanish, you probably can find some.
Hi Sunny Mississippi!
I was intrigued by your question, so went to have a look on HMF. If you use the advanced search feature you can search by breeder country.
For central/south America I found the following :
Argentina: Cristel Seppuhn Vidal, who has apparently introduced several varieties in the last few years via her nursery Rosales Cristel Vidal. Unfortunately a google search revealed that she passed away: https://www.sanpedroinforma.com.ar/news-125124-falleci%C3%B3-cristel-steppuhn-de-vidal-emblema-de-la-producci%C3%B3n-de-rosas-en-la-ciudad
While searching, I also noticed a nursery called Rosales Santa Maria near Buenos Aires, they are on Instagram where they have a few videos about growing roses from seed, but don't seem to have a functional webshop.
Brazil: Seems like there were at least three hybridizers , Col. Jose Meirelles, Amaury Fonseca, and Dr. Joaquim Fontes, who were active back in the late 19th and early 20th century: teas, HP's, HT's mainly, among which the most famous rose is probably Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux (available from A Reverence for Roses in Florida).
Ecuador: Santiago Brown bred florists roses, only two listings from 2013 on HMF.
I bet there must be more out there!
We will have to tell Moses He loves AD or roses
Thanks for the Palatine news! I would love to get Fur Elise!!
Yay Judi!! cant wait for you to get them!!
@stillanntn6b im so happy you made contact! I hope he is able to find everything on your wishlist and more! I would suggest taking a pair of short rainboots and some gardening gloves. The rows in the greenhouses can get muddy. And the gloves with help protect his hands from any chemicals if he is sorting through hundreds of treated potted roses. Both of those tips helped me zipthrough my last visit. And if you have any unicorn roses that are not listed on the K&M page, add them tothe list anyway. There are so many surprises to be found in their rows of roses. Please keep us posted!
@judijunebugarizonazn8 Im so happy you were able to get in touch! And yay for her spotting another Pretty Jessica! Please keep us posted when you receive your babies.
Maybe a hedge of Raspberry Cupcake?
Lafter is definitely worth a look. Not fragrant to my nose, but bright, super healthy, and can get big
Sorry Vaporvac, just now seeing this thread...
I was checking out Flamenco Rosita on Helpmefind.com...
https://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.40496.3&tab=1
Interesting rose but looks like it could grow to 10ft wide... lol..
Just so you know that Artist-FKA-Novice Zone 7B GA ....
But I can see why you love it Vaporvac....
I wish you the best Artist-FKA-Novice Zone 7B GA in deciding what you want... :-)
SO many roses to choose from....lol
I knew Rosita can get big but didn't realize it could be 10 ft wide.
If so, there would be plenty of space for one in background, further back, and the three EDI.s in the front. Or 3 EDI's and 2 Earth Songs.
I like the idea of Rosita making a lot of bloom since I rarely bring any because I don't have many cut roses. Those bloom but never quite enough for me to feel comfortable cutting away for the indoors. Just a few here and there.
But Rosita sounds like she could produce in the 100+ per flush, and that would be nice.
Maybe a bit wild for that spot? Not sure how the arching canes would look since the front yard is somewhat on the formal side.
Thank you all!
@erasmus_gw thanks for the heads up!!
Thank you erasmus for the update! I'm so sad I won't have a chance to bid on your beautiful roses. But I completely understand the difficulties you are facing. I'm sure there will still be plenty of eager customers awaiting your weekly auctions!
I cannot get over how clean this bush is! I am no-spray hot and humid zone 8b Mississippi AND LOOK at this La Fountaine aux Perles!!!
A feature I appreciate on the Palatine site is that you can filter the roses by healthy and very healthy. My new rule for ordering from Palatine is that the rose must at least appear on the healthy list.
Hands down Palatine sends the healthiest roses. There are quite a few other nurseries that I’ve always been satisfied with but no one is like Palatine
